Project Grantham

The Riverside

This new river side precinct building for Hamilton city contains professional offices, boutique retail, restaurant and hospitality; all integrated into the high quality public spaces and river edge amenities.

The main objective behind the development is to create a total river side environment that is not only an enjoyable and memorable place to work and socialise but also operate as a significant gateway, connecting the central city to the Waikato River offering significant positive opportunity and potential for Hamilton's CBD environment.

  • The development will comprise a high quality six (6) level building accommodating Mighty River Power Ltd tenancy on its two (2) upper floors, with two (2) additional floors for secondary commercial tenants at the Grantham Street level of the site.
  • The site will also accommodate substantial hospitality areas for tenants and public by way of function & conference rooms which can utilise the associated on-site catering services provided by the cafe and restaurant.
  • The lower basement floors of the building will be provide generous car parking and tenant storage facilities.
  • Environmentally sustainable design is an important feature of the building with particular attention given to recycling, energy efficiency via passive design, an efficient plant controlled by BMS management systems, transportation, water recycling, and use of construction material.
  • The piazza has been incorporated to improve the distinctiveness of Hamilton city and open up the river to the CBD. As a gathering point for social activities, both from the CBD and from the river walks, the unique piazza area will bring community spirit to the location for locals and tourists alike.

The underlying concept of the building was directly inspired by the river side site and its topography.

With the site’s contrast to the CBD’s hard scaped environment, Riverside will extend and enhance Hamilton’s city centre with a unique journey through this historical location with green open spaces, landscaped contours that unify with river side reserves, and a landmark quality building which complements and sympathises with its existing surroundings.
